LOBBY SETTINGS: “THE REMIX” BY ROYAL CROWN DERBY
It might be unusual to pair a company viewed as traditional with magazines known for their modern and young points of view. But that’s exactly what Royal Crown Derby’s Vice President, Monica Watts did for the lobby settings during the October Market. She noted, “When design, color and texture are remixed, there’s a new spirit and direction. To help make the point, we invited two of our magazine partners, Metropolitan Home and Martha Stewart Weddings, to rethink and remix setting the lobby tables with some of our classic designs.”

The Modern Mix
by Metropolitan Home
In setting the cozy black cocoon vignette, Linda O’Keeffe, Metropolitan Home’s Design Editor, shared that Royal Crown Derby’s “Black and Gold Aves” pattern has always been one of her personal favorites. “I like it because it is an iconic design and can’t be stereotyped. ‘Modern’ is not confined to one period or style; rather it’s the mix of periods that make a room or table exciting.”
Shown:
China: Black and Gold Aves
Crystal: Baccarat
Flatware and picture frame: Calvin Klein Home
Cyclone black feather lampshade: And Bob’s Your Uncle
